August 5th to September 6th: Congress Summer Recess
Our representatives are back in their home districts for a full month. This is our chance to lobby them directly. They spend all year listening to corporate lobbyists and intelligence heads; now, they get to hear from us. 217 representatives are now on record as being just fine with unconstitutional surveillance. This is our chance to find the 7 we need to flip so that the next bill to neutralize unconstitutional surveillance passes.

October 24, 2013, 7:00 pm: Sacremento, CA - Cryptoparty
Sacramento's cryptoparty is a free social gathering for discussion of all things security. We're open to all skill levels and interests and hope to teach the community about encryption and security basics. We will focus on email encryption: the basics of public key cryptography, setting up a mail client to use PGP, creating and signing keys. Bring a laptop if you have one. Spare practice machines will be available.
